Civil Engineering Main Contractor

A Degree Qualified enthusiastic Assistant QS / Cost Engineer  is currently required to join a Commercial team for a Main Contractor. 

As an organisation they currently work on a number of projects spanning across Highways, Rail, Tunnelling and Civils across the UK.

Requirements/duties:

• To work with Cost Forecasts, actual costs, accruals, cost coding. To interpret figures, read bill of quantities and input/ code costs in the SPE system
• On a monthly basis, the candidate will produce monthly SPE reports, analyse them, look at deviations, and discuss with his/her management
• To keep the system up-to-date with costing information

 
Level of qualifications, relevant experience:

• Great analytical capabilities, attention to detail and IT knowledgeable especially with spreadsheets
• Passion to get correct numbers and patient enough to achieve the right results
• Preferable experience with cost forecasts and budgets
• Preferable understanding of construction costs
